Overview

We are in search of a strategic and results-oriented North American Applications Engineering Manager to guide our applications engineering team. The manager will be responsible for supervising the development, execution, and maintenance of refrigeration system solutions throughout North America. The position demands robust technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and proficient collaboration with both internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead and manage a team of applications engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to foster a high-performing team culture;
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary technical authority for refrigeration system applications, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements and industry standards;
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate closely with sales teams to understand customer needs, provide technical support, and develop customized solutions that drive business growth;
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of applications engineering projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards;
  • Solution Development: Drive innovation and continuous improvement in refrigeration system design and application methodologies, leveraging industry trends and customer feedback;
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and operations teams to optimize product performance, reliability, and serviceability;
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver technical training programs for internal teams, customers, and partners to enhance product knowledge and application expertise;
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for new products, applications, and strategic partnerships within the North American market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred;
  • Proven experience 10+ years in applications engineering, technical sales support, or a related field within the refrigeration or HVAC industry;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams;
  • Strong technical expertise in refrigeration systems, including knowledge of CO2, ammonia, or other relevant refrigerants;
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results in a fast-paced environment;
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proven ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences;
  • Strategic thinker with analytical skills to assess market trends, identify opportunities, and develop actionable strategies.
