In this role, you will be responsible for executing the processing of complex journals and reconciliations, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of month-end results and periodic reporting. You will prepare VAT returns and related reports, as well as lead communication with the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams to resolve excluded invoices from VAT returns due to errors. Additionally, you will perform complex intercompany reconciliations by operating mature processes and take the lead in communicating with entities to resolve any disputes efficiently.

The GL, VAT and IC Accountant will be responsible for any combination of the below responsibilities:

- Execute the month end process

• Operate the monthly process to the month end calendar
• Preparation and posting of complex journals on a timely basis
• Approval of journals prepared by other team members
• Preparation and processing of allocation and recharges on a timely basis

- Execute the production of reconciliations

• Prepare reconciliations for review by GL Lead
• Review the aging of reconciling items and resolve in a timely manner
• Prepare trial balance and load HFM
• Maintenance of journal and allocation keys
• Bank statement processing and resolution of AR/AP unallocated payments
• General support to other team members as business demand requires
• Contribute to operational and strategic process improvements

- Execute VAT return and related reports

• Identify optimal way to resolve differences
• Understand the root cause of AP mistakes and help drive process improvements
• Resolve and assess all excluded invoices from VAT return
• Understand and work with the AP to resolve mistakes
• Update the comments and status tracking of mistakes
• Escalate mistakes where necessary to Team Lead
• Communication with tax authority
• VAT tasks support to other team members as business demand requires
• Contribute to operational and strategic process improvements

- Reconcile complex intercompany transactions

• Identify optimal way to resolve differences
• Understand the root cause of disputes and help drive process improvements
• Propose accruals journal entries to balance the Intercompany at month end
• Resolve and assess all disputes information
• Understand and work with the BU to resolve dispute resolution
• Update the comments and status tracking of disputes
• Work with the entities to have target closure dates for disputes
• Manage aging of disputes
• Work with the AR/AP team to resolve and record missing transactions
• Escalate disputes where necessary to Team Lead
• Manage the monthly intercompany payment proposal
• General intercompany support to team

• University degree or High School and a relevant experience

• Good communication skills in English

• Hands-on approach and diligence

• Good understanding of SAP or other ERP systems as a user

• Tax technology experience in SAP/ERP S4 is a plus

• Tax and VAT professional qualification is a plus
