About the role:

  • Management of the month end process.
  • Perform approvals for journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Responsible for periodic reporting.
  • Perform complex intercompany reconciliations by operating mature processes.
  • Organize operational level continuous improvement activities and support on strategic change.
  • Ensure control compliance and continuous improvement to achieve a standardized process.
  • Manage an accountant team of 2 persons.

Responsibilities

The General Accountant Manager will be responsible for any combination of the below responsibilities:

  • Work with Finance manager of the BU:
    • Monitor, manage and trouble-shoot issues with team workload, allowing GL team to be flexible in meeting customer demand to agreed Service Levels.
    • Communication month end calendar and deadlines.
  • Oversee the month end process:
    • Escalation potential delays to the Finance manager.
    • Manage the resources accordingly to the month end deadlines.
    • Perform timely approvals for journal entries and reconciliations.
    • Manage and resolve reconciliation variances through the team.
  • Reconcile complex intercompany transactions:
    • Identify optimal way to resolve differences.
    • Understand the root cause of disputes and help drive process improvements.
    • Propose accruals journal entries to balance the Intercompany at month end.
  • Resolve and assess all disputes information:
    • Understand and work with the BU to resolve dispute resolution.
    • Work with the entities to manage disputes and escalate to BU where necessary.
    • Work with the AR/AP team to resolve and record missing transactions.
  • Manage the monthly intercompany payment proposal (disbursements and collections).
  • General intercompany support to team.
  • General support to other team members as business demand requires.
  • Approve and sign off all periodic returns e.g. VAT.
  • Approve and obtain entity sign off on the HFM loads.
  • Lead resource planning and balancing, and productivity initiatives.
  • Own controls and ensure audit cycles are executed in a timely manner.
  • Cooperate with internal/external audit, tax advisors to complete audit and tax deliverables.
  • Be accountable for the attainment of KPIs.
  • Drive operational process improvement, supports strategic improvements.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills in English.

  • 2 + years of experience with managing asset modules (e.g., setting up asset cards, managing work-in-progress investments, investment advances, carrying forward to the next year).

  • Audit – Preparation of Documents.
