Own cost optimization, material improvement, and value creation across our commercial refrigeration portfolio. Combine deep engineering know-how with sharp business acumen to reduce total cost, improve performance, and enhance sustainability—without compromising quality, safety, or compliance.
Analyze product designs, specifications, BOMs, and supplier manufacturing processes to identify savings opportunities (should-cost, VA/VE, teardown analysis).
Run Design-to-Value (DtV) and Design-for-Manufacture (DFM/DFA) workshops with internal teams and suppliers; drive implementation of agreed actions.
Evaluate alternative materials, components, and suppliers to reduce cost, improve reliability, and increase recyclability/energy efficiency.
Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality to deliver value-engineering projects from concept to SOP, including trials and PPAPs.
Support product lifecycle management (PLM) through simplification, modularization, and standardization of parts and processes.
Build and present business cases with Engineering & Sourcing (ROI, payback, NPV, risk/FMEA); secure approvals and track benefits realization.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental directives (e.g., refrigerants, RoHS/REACH, CE/UL).
Request, order, and coordinate prototypes/samples from suppliers and partners; plan validation and testing with QA/R&D.
Maintain cost models and should-cost databases; provide clean, auditable savings tracking.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering.
3+ years in value engineering, cost optimization, or product development—ideally in refrigeration/HVAC or electro-mechanical products.
Solid grasp of refrigeration systems and thermodynamics (compressors, heat exchangers, expansion devices, insulation, controls).
Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and cost-modeling/should-cost tools (e.g., parametric, process-based).
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills; able to influence across functions and suppliers.
MS 365 power user, especially Excel (complex formulas, pivoting, Power Query/Power Pivot a plus).
Certifications a plus: PMP/Prince2, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, SAVE International AVS/CVS.
Interpersonal strengths: collaborative, data-driven, crisp presenter.
Languages: Fluent English; German preferred.
