Overview

 

The IT Workplace & Device Specialist is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of workplace IT infrastructure and services. This includes managing endpoint devices, collaboration tools, software deployment, user support, and ensuring a productive digital environment for all employees.

The role requires a mix of technical expertise, project management, team leadership, and user-centric thinking.

The IT Workplace & Device Specialist will be part of the global IT organization and will report to IT Business Partnering & Workplace Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Endpoint Management
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices).
  • Standardize and maintain images and configurations for user devices.
  • Ensure security compliance on all endpoints (antivirus, encryption, patching).
  1. Digital Workplace Solutions
  • Manage collaboration and communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Zoom, Teams).
  • Evaluate and implement tools that enhance employee productivity and user experience.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding processes with respect to IT systems.
  1. Asset and License Management
  • Maintain accurate records of IT hardware and software assets.
  • Ensure proper licensing and renewals for workplace-related software and systems.
  1. IT Projects and Initiatives
  • Lead or contribute to IT workplace-related projects (e.g., office moves, system upgrades, remote work enablement).
  • Collaborate with other IT teams on infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity efforts that impact the end-user environmen
  1. Vendor and Procurement Management
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers related to IT workplace tools, hardware, and software.
  • Coordinate procurement, inventory, and distribution of devices and licenses.
  1. Strategy and Continuous Improvement
  • Define the digital workplace strategy aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Analyze trends, feedback, and data to drive improvements in digital tools and services.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in workplace IT.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, workplace technology, or IT service management.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., Jira Service Management).
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Experience with MDM tools (e.g.,MS Intune, JAMF).

Preferred:

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience managing hybrid or remote workplace IT environments.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity practices related to endpoints and user environments.
