Overview

The Finance Manager / Finance Business Partner HQ is a key member of the CCR EMEA Headquarters Finance team and acts as the main Finance Business Partner for Engineering EMEA and all Central Functions. The role owns the full Engineering and HQ cost budgets, partners closely with the Global Head of Engineering and Functional Leaders and leads financial planning and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.

 

The position manages one direct report based in Lisbon who supports HQ operational finance and acts as the finance lead for the main R&D Center in Mainz, Germany. The main priority of the role is to ensure financial control, robust planning, reliable forecasts, and Business partnering with clear financial insights that enable management to allocate resources effectively, track R&D and technology investments, and secure a profitable future for the business.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

Business partnering – Engineering EMEA

  • Act as primary Finance Business Partner to the Global Head of Engineering EMEA, providing end-to-end ownership of the Engineering cost base (OPEX and CAPEX).​
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for Engineering EMEA, including headcount, project costs, and investment planning.
  • Support tracking and financial monitoring of R&D projects, ensuring visibility on spend, variances, and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Review quarterly technology and strategic product launches with the Product Management / PLM team, providing financial analysis and profitability insight.  Partnering with tax on R&D capitalization eligibility.
  • Support product enhancement initiatives with financial assessments and scenario analysis.

Business partnering – Central Functions & HQ

  • Serve as Finance Business Partner for all HQ Central Functions (Finance, HR, DT, Supply Chain & Procurement, Strategy, Legal), providing a holistic view of HQ financials.​
  • Be the full owner of the HQ P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance review for Central Functions.
  • Support all Functional Leaders on a weekly basis with spending reviews, budget adherence, and reallocation proposals where needed.
  • Act as the main cross-functional point of contact for financial topics, consolidating and communicating central financial insights to senior management.

Planning, forecasting and reporting

  • Be accountable for loading reliable Plans and regularly updating Forecasts into the group reporting systems (e.g. HFM / successor tools) in line with WHQ timelines and expectations.​
  • Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of Plan, Latest Forecast, and Long-Range Plan submissions for Engineering and HQ Central Functions.
  • Review monthly financials with all relevant teams, explaining variances against budget and forecast and ensuring clarity on key drivers and corrective actions.
  • Support the Controllership team to secure a smooth and accurate month-end close.​

Team leadership and collaboration

  • Lead and develop one direct report who supports HQ operational finance and acts as finance lead for the main R&D Center in Mainz.
  • Foster strong collaboration with HQ FP&A, Controllership, Engineering, R&D, and Central Function teams to ensure alignment and transparency.​
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in financial processes, templates, and reporting to enhance efficiency and insight quality.​

Projects, systems, and process improvement

  • Contribute to and support S/4HANA implementation from a finance / FP&A perspective.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial templates, reporting tools, and analytics to better support decision-making for Engineering and Central Functions.​
  • Support global and regional FP&A initiatives and ad hoc analysis requests from CCR EMEA and WHQ as required.​

Qualifications

Qualification

 

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A and/or Finance Business Partnering, ideally in an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.​
  • Proven ability to manage full P&L ownership for cost centers or functions and to deliver accurate budgets and forecasts to tight deadlines.
  • Strong business partnering and communication skills, with the ability to challenge and support senior Functional Leaders and translate financials into clear messages.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to identify and correct data issues and ensure high data quality.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with HFM and/or SAP / S4 or similar ERP and reporting tools is preferred.
